Probate & Settlement Paralegal

We are a growing Estate Planning & Elder Law Firm with a need for a Probate & Trust Settlement Paralegal to assist with all aspects of case files from start to finish. This is a family owned, fast-paced law firm with the need for someone with the ability to multitask and assist where needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Wisconsin State Bar Paralegal Certification or Ability to Obtain (Required)
  • Paralegal Experience 3 years (Preferred)
  • Licensed Notary or Ability to Obtain (Required)
  • US work authorization (Required)

Job Summary: Provide exceptional customer service to all clients interacting with the firm. Candidate must be able to perform all job duties associated with this position, including, but not limited to greet clients, conduct client meetings, draft documents, answer phones, provide client support, manage client files, assist attorneys as assigned, provide support during events, and other duties as assigned. This position is based in Appleton, but travel to Green Bay, Oshkosh, and surrounding locations will be required.

Responsibilities include:

1.     Provide Attorney Support

2.     Conduct client meetings

3.     Gather personal and financial information

4.     Organize and maintain the client file

5.     Track important dates and deadlines

6.     Reconcile finances and confirm values

7.     Complete court and financial institution forms

8.     Draft legal documents

9.     Write correspondence to clients and professionals

10.   Schedule for attorneys and paralegals

11.   Assist with events and presentations

12.   Maximize efficient use of time for attorneys and staff members

13.   Write correspondence to clients and other professionals

14.   Miscellaneous duties as assigned 

Essential Skills:

  • Work 40 hours per week with the ability and willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the firm
  • Detail oriented, strong analytical and organizational skills, multi-tasking and managing multiple projects
  • Troubleshoot and identify solutions and needs for improvement as it relates to paralegal operations
  • Ability to communicate and interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work both as a team and independently

Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Word

Knowledge of:

  • Client Management Software

  • Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm & Friday 8am to 12pm
